Yep, it's about that time of the year. Unfortunately it's nothing special,
another 3.0% raise this year. Seems as though I'm with in average range for this year.
They expected raises to be from 3 to 4 percent last year. I've also found that it's slightly under
last years average inflation rate of 3.24%. For some reason I'm not complaining as much this year, I feel more content...

It is nice to get a raise, isn't it-- yet depressing when you realize that you are just keeping up with inflation. Sometimes I have projected my income into the future and said, "Wow, I will be making $150,000 by age X!" And then I realize that is exactly how much I am making NOW in inflated dollars. ~sigh~ I will just have to do better than average and climb that corporate ladder!

my husband, who works for a BIG company, has had excellent excellent reviews and no raise in 3 years. they tell him he makes too much, I say, come to our house look at our balance sheet and we'll show you how much that hurts. Our prop taxes have gone up over 30% in those 3 years and oil has gone up huge.... it is just too expensive to live where we live in NY.

Congrats on the raise. Any raise is a good raise - keep up the good work.
